A discovery call is needed before you can book an appointment with us. This blog is to address what a discvery call is and why you need one before starting work on your dogs behaviour.
What is a Discovery Call?
A discovery call is a preliminary conversation between us to discuss what your dog training & behavioural needs are.
It's a valuable opportunity for both parties to learn more about each other and determine if we are a good fit to work together.
Who Needs A Discovery Call?
Anyone can book a call, however, if you contact me with specific question anout your dogs behaviour then I will as you to book a call.
Why Do I Have To Book A Discovery Call? Can't I Just Book In For Dog Training?
No. You can book classess on the website. But for individual attention, you will need to book in your free call.
There is a difference between dog training and behaviour intervention. When clients contact me to ask for a price for dog training, I need to know more information about what your goals are and what the dogs behaviour issues are before I can assess the level of training required.
Behavioural issues such as reactivity, fear and seperation anxiety require a behavioural assessment to identify the fucntion of the behaviour.
Unfortuantely dog training is an unregulated industry and some trainer will work with you without an assessment. You will not see the best end result, unless you have idnetified specic areas of your dogs individual needs.
What happens During The Call?
You can book the call via the website , You will be asked to supply a brief overview of why you have booked the call.
Duirng the call I will introduce myself and you have the opportunity to tell me what you dog training needs are and understand your current situation.
I have specific questions that I ask to assess the level of work that is required, find out your goals and intentions and begin to build our relationship and trust.
You can ask as may questions as you like during the call.
At the end of the call I can advice you of which training program is best suited for your families and your dogs needs.
There is no obligation to book the program.
